Traveling on an ancient egyptian bark
was a symbol for transversing the afterlife,
traditionally a journey of millions of years.
But when the New York Science Times reported on 4/16/1985
that DNA from an ancient egyptian mummy
had been "resurrected" by genetic engineers,
the end of that ancient journey appeared to be at hand.
During this period, I wrote 'Modern Metaphysics,'
an art book examining these issues. (A copy of it was
later included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art.)
To continue my investigation, I also created Lumia Scale No. 5,
which permits an interactive invocation of Horus-Ra,
an ancient egyptian godform associated with resurrection. |
